Drawing from improvisational and somatic practices this class builds towards a framework of known and unknown material working equally on the technical and compositional elements of our dancing. We will focus on breaking things down, stripping back and letting go in order to find clarity and to attend to the detailed and nuanced, enriching our fullest dancing. This dialogue between tension and release allowing for a greater connectivity, integrity and efficiency in our moving. We will also address performativity and presence, challenging no one state of dancing and being, and encouraging a sense of play and aliveness.
