Know a child who is curious about dance?
Participants can expect to jump, swerve, stride and bounce - learn and develop your skills in contemporary dance with like-minded children who want to push themselves creatively and work together to maximise stamina, strength and individuality.
What will the class actually involve?
Classes start with a warm up which focuses on engaging the body, for example feet exercises, so we are balanced and articulate, floor work to warm up our spines and swing exercises to prepare our arms. This section of class is called ‘technique’ and also involves short routines and sequences to start working on musicality, timing and movement memory.
The latter section of the class embraces your creativity, working in small groups and individually, learning how to create choreography through creative tasks and games to start finding your unique way of moving.
Open level - no previous dance/movement experience needed just enthusiasm and comfy clothes.
Please note this is for boys/male identifing children in school years 7-11 (average age 11-16)
Autumn Term: Sat 21 Sep - Sat 7 Dec (No classes during half term: Sat 26 Oct)
Spring Term: Sat 11 Jan - Sat 28 Mar (No classes during half term: Sat 22 Feb)
Summer Term: Sat 25 Apr - Sat 11 Jul (No classes during half term: Sat 30 May)
All fees are inclusive of a £30 non-refundable deposit.
