    Richard Alston Dance Company has announced today that its final tour will take place in 2019-2020. Richard Alston has been creating dance for over 50 years and his company has been resident at The Place for the past 24 years. In that time, Alston has played a major role in the world of contemporary dance, developing a unique and distinct dance language and shaping the art form in this country.

    Richard Alston Dance Company is looking for a Production Manager to manage all technical aspects of RADC touring work. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Britain’s leading independent dance company.

    The successful candidate will have considerable professional experience with a touring performing arts company, be a team player and have the ability to deal with a range of people, including creative collaborators.

    This is a fixed term contract starting on 30 Jul 2018 for 35 weeks.

    Salary: Not less than £32, 652 pro rota p.a. £627.93 per week.

    Richard Alston to step aside as Artistic Director of The Place.

    Richard Alston CBE is to step aside in November as Artistic Director of leading contemporary dance organisation The Place. Alston, who has held the position since 1994 will be seventy in late October and wishes to concentrate his energy on leading Richard Alston Dance Company towards its 25th anniversary in 2020.

    Richard Alston Dance Company dancer Liam Riddick has won the Dancing Times Best Male Dancer Award at the Critics Circle National Dance Awards 2017. Liam has been nominated for seven Critics Circle National Dance Awards in six consecutive years.

    Richard Alston Dance Company welcomes new company members and says a fond farewell to Nancy Nerantzi and Oihana Vesga Bujan.

    Richard Alston Dance Company is delighted to announce that Ellen Yilma will be joining the company. Ellen has previously worked for Watkins Dance and took part in the Barbican Exhibition Dancing Around Duchamp performing Merce Cunningham repertoire curated by Jeannie Steele. Her most recent performance work has been with Tavaziva Dance Company which she first joined as an apprentice and was moved up to become a company dancer in 2012.
